Dream Vaycay.

Man, I can't beleive it's only going to be a couple more days until I'm boarding a plane in Long Beach Airport for my dream vacation. Got reservations for the rental car and hotel for the big day. I've been working hard these last few months and it's going to be great getting away.

I only wish the hotel had a pool. I can't beleive how fast the weekend will go by. I'm so flustered and excited I don't know what to do with my time. So many options and possibilities. Where to start first? Sight seeing or a nice breakfast or even a trip to the beach. I got to double check to make sure I have my camera charged up and the flash card empty. I'm going to be taking a million pictures. I'll be sure to blog them as I get them.

Time to go. I have more planning and items to research before my trip to Sunnyvale.

no fish worth keeping

Went fishing today and it was the most I had to work since I'd been going. But we did okay considering we had no bait. Or live bait. Can you believe the bait barge ran out of bait? Sheesh. And this was at 6AM. Going to be a long day for them! Or i guess a short one if you aren't interested in working. I don't see how they'll be able to pay this months utilities if they can't get product in to sell. And today was busy!

So we went out a little bit and caught our own "live" bait. Unfortuneately the mackrels we caught were too big to use. But we were catching them left and right!

And thus with big bait we decided to go for big fish! At first I thought great! but then this would entail finding a temperature gradient, traveling along this gradien/current and looking for a floating kelp paddie that would have broken off from the main one in mexico. HooBoy! the longer I started to search for this brown patch of water the quicker I began to realize that our chances are going to be slim...

So we decided to go by san onfre for the halibut and sand bass. We only had one usable halibut bait... Okay, I live and 2 dead baits to use. the rest we'd be strip baiting or using rubber baits.

this was okay but it got kinda tedious. Would have been better for live bait but got to make do. As a consequence we only got small fishes. None worth keeping or even legal.

okay, gotta go. have a good day,

new icon?

I love FireFox. Or is it all the extensions that you can add that just make it over the top? One extension that i use is forecast fox. It's great. As my story goes I use forecast fox because when I was living in Brooklyn you could never tell how it would be outside.

California easy. Clouds in the sky?... mild, seventy-ish. Blue skies?... Maybe hot, upper seventies - to low eighties. Plus you'd spend most of your time in your car. In Brooklyn? forget about it. Walking everywhere, no releif from rain or snow and the temperature differences sometimes can be 10-20 degrees! So I used forecast fox to help figure what the temps would be for the day/week so I'd know how to dress or what to expect.

I haven't changed my forecast fox location since I moved primarily due to the fact that I kinda still want to vicarously live in Brooklyn and to try and remember how it was like.

So the other day when I boot up my computer I see these new Icon's that I haven't seen yet. Hmm what do these mean I ask myself...

HoHO. Flaming thermometers! I guess that means HOT. I can't beleive it. Now again, I'm sort of glad that I'm not there. Could you imagine how horrible it would be if my wife was still there? Luckily for me she is back from summer school and not in Brooklyn complaining to me on the phone about the weather Phew!.

Man, that's one for the memory banks tho. flamin thermometers. That's funny. Now I get Extreme weather warnings and to be mindful of the excessive heat and humidity. I guess that work out is out of the question. I wonder if the corporate types are still wearing the suits and ties. Or even how the subway smells with this heat and humidity. I'd probably be gagging on the smells of trash and urine. I'll have to let you know as I'm planning to go back and drop the wife off when school starts again. I'm hoping the heat will abate then but last year I remember august being hot. It didn't cool off til about September/October ish. I'm hoping an air conditioner will not be required but 60-40 days of heat may be intolerable for the missus.

We'll see.

Me and the cuz at salt creek. It took awhile to find this place (a couple of missed turns etc.) but it was worth it. Man, the development that is happening there is amazing. I remember times of me and my two amigos lighting a bonfire (of bowling pins) at night and contemplating life. Don't worry, it was a legal fire as it was in a pit. The fire department came by to make sure!

Can you get sore from flying a kite? I must be outta shape I swear. My calfs are killing me. I guess this is my new thing for this summer 2006. kite flying. these cheap kites really fly well. none of that balsa wood and paper crap. nylon and figerglass all for 8 bucks. plus string and tail too.

Man, it's so nice to be back in California. I love this place. And I'm not saying it because I'm biased. I really did/do miss Brooklyn every now and again but then I look at photos like these and forget all about the hot and humid and windy and wet and cold and... blustery and noisey and the dog poo and the rats and... you get the picture. Or do you...

Went to another Angel game before the wife came back. I got this one for her as she loves.LOOVES the cotton candy. except it's not the same as in the coney island ones. they use the blue and pink dyes.

This wasn't the actual day but it was something like this. Except hotter with fewer scoring. You get the gist.

Here's my former work. Actually it's the old building but this is what I fondly remember best. I heard they were going to demolish this building so i wanted to take some photos for my archives ;) As luck would have it I was in the area for my cuzin's softball tournament. I was also able to go to TJ's subs to get some eats like in the olden days. Mmm Good.

time to catch up on blogging again. Here is a pic of the place i work at now. I could have took a better picture but I was too lazy to walk up the street. the foyer area is actually pretty nice. they used to park cars in that area but the city of cypress told them the could only do it for 6 months at a time. this was after they ripped out some extensive hedging they had there, so i'm told.
