The Big Apple

My omage to Apple. I'm told that this is the "flagship" store for apple. Eh. it was okay. rips off the louvre except that one is a pyramid and this one is square. Apple has always been slick in marketing and slick in product design. Sometimes I feel though that the product doesn't always match the design or the company for that fact. Kinda like a corvette body with a vw beetle bug engine.

It took me a while to get an Ipod. granted I do like my ipod i think it's pretty slick but somewhere in the back of my mind i'm waiting for the other shoe to drop... Like what happens with so many other Apple products I've purchased in the past. But maybe i'll be spared this go round. It seems like they got rid of most of the bugs in the earlier generations and they are certainly supporting this product considering it's making them buckets of money. This one should be bullet proof. Just so tempting not to get an apple powerbook. those things look so slick. But I know i'll regret it as soon as I buy one. Hopefully I'll have the willpower to not get one.

Well, my luck couldn't hold off the rain but I was able to sample the warm weather that occurred the couple of days I was there (in the forties i think). It was really nice weather. But then on my last day there it was getting pretty chilly. So cold it made me wonder where my scarf was. But not that cold to where my face was numb and frozen with the wind cutting through my clothes...

My wife gets to feel that feeling later this week :) I guess I'm lucky afterall. But all she has to do is mention ice and i start to worry. so much for me gloating :(

My mixed luck did follow me home too. I had a delay and needed to board a new plane while leaving JFK that got me home 4 hours later than my original arrival time. Bummer but love jet blue, got me a free one way voucher. I just wonder which plane it was that failed. B*L*U*E is seared in my mind as the first plane me and the wife had to deplane from after an aborted take off. Funny we saw that plane going to Utah taking a friend leaving the same day we left for New York. I'm happy to say no abortive take off for B*L*U*E.
