Oh, Now where did I leave off?...

Welcome December! Mine and the Ol' Lady's first snow in Brooklyn.

After Thanksgiving I caught a cold and lost the steam that I had to blog. But now, I'm bored It's kinda chilly outside, so I'm just kicking back and vegging out figured I'd blog some. The blogging phenomina is kinda neat really.

It's almost like a competition. Or at least that's how I'm viewing it. I've seen some others at random and they all seem to have that underlying competitive undercurrent. Or else why would they have adwise? or other chances to advertise? and push products or an agenda (but i certainly do like that guy from Voodoo computers cool stuff!). I'll claim my piece of immortality (byBlogging) and hopefully not get sucked into the trap of the bigger better blog-o-sphere world of lookee at me world! I am unique... By doing thusly, it will make me UNIQUE! railing and rebeling against Blogging by blogging! sigh.

Okay, It's fun.
but only when it's not a chore.

So let's see, Delta Boy once again inspired me to keep up with my blog. All them pictures of food, I'm hungry, and I remeber a conversation I had about posting the picture of my 1st New York (Brooklyn) turkey dinner so... Viola!

With stove top stuffing! Not the best looking one I've made but it was tasty. I think I needed to add either more sugar to the brining or more butter when baking. And it was tricky as the oven has a tendancy to either be 50 degrees hotter or colder than the intended setting on any giving day.

So from this turkey it lasted from Thanksgiving to.... Dec. 8th, 2005. Granted we didn't eat turkey every day in a row but we finished off with Turkey Tacos (after numerous turkey sandwiches, turkey dinners and also turkey porridge/congee/jook. But the landlord's mother made the jook as I don't have a pot big enough to cook the carcass. I'm told she said it was good and they gave me a portion for myself)! No pictures of the tacos. But they were good. I've been thinking about them ever since. We did them Jack in the Box style as I've been craving J in B since getting here. But that's another blog for later.

So this is our thanksgiving dinner. It mostly looks like take out but those are the only containers we have to hold our foods in. Everything is home made.

Cheesey Potatos, Cheesey macaroni, brocli, turkey and mushroom gravey, stove top stuffing, sweet potatos, cranberrys. The rice and the turkey are backin the kitchen as we needed elbow room to eat. But this was it. We felt like pigs and figured this will be our first an maybe last TG with ourselves. I was thinking that if we were better prepared we could've (should've, would've, etc) had some contianers packed for distribution and could've passed them out in the subway (the leftovers). But being thanksgiving the bums/homeless probably already had their soup kitchen/church scoped out for food. So we were left with our food, gluttony and guilt.

Next year we are thinking about going along with some families or friends. We'll see.

But I did like the time with the ol'lady. It will make for memories later on for the kiddies if we are lucky.

adios,
vin
